If the server is asleep, you wake it just by joining

In your server list it might say 😴 mage.net is sleeping — join to wake it. That's normal. Join anyway. You'll float in a quiet purple void with this at the top of your screen:

1. Wait about two minutes. Don't disconnect — the bar is a timer, not a loading measure, and the world appears on its own the moment the server is ready.
2. If it says "Almost ready — reconnect in a minute!", it means the server needed longer than usual. Just join again.
3. Already awake? You skip all of this and go straight in.

Things this server does that vanilla doesn't

Skills/skills

Everything you do — mining, farming, fighting, fishing — levels a skill and grants small permanent bonuses, plus mana abilities as you climb. Open /skills to see the whole tree.

Hammerscraft one

Vein mining isn't a passive ability anymore — it's a tool now. Craft a hammer and swing it on stone or ore like a pickaxe, and it breaks a whole 3×3 patch in one hit instead of a single block. Grab a regular pickaxe whenever you want to mine one block at a time.

Tree fellingsneak = off

Chop the bottom log and the whole tree falls, and a sapling replants itself. Hold sneak while chopping to break single logs normally.

Homes & teleports/sethome · /home · /tpa

/sethome where you live, /home to return, /spawn for world spawn, and /tpa Qualan to ask to teleport to someone (they accept with /tpaccept).

Chess/chess

Real playable chess against each other or the computer. First make a board on flat ground: /chess create_board home north, then /chess set_checkerboard home, then /chess challenge cpu. Pro tip for every command on the server: press Tab mid-command and the game shows what it expects next.

What's new to build with

Five content packs run on top of Nova, the framework that adds new blocks and items beyond vanilla. Nothing to install on your end — it's all just there when you join.

HammersVanilla Hammers

The vein-mining tool from above, in pack form — craft one and swing it like a pickaxe for a 3×3 patch instead of one block.

Machinespower & automation

Solar panels, coal generators, wind turbines, and a lightning-powered generator make power. Pulverizers turn ores and raw metal into dust you can smelt back into extra ingots, a tree factory grows trees in a small contained space, and a quarry can mine out a whole area for you.

Logisticsmove stuff around

Cables carry power, items, and fluids between machines, with filters so only the stuff you want moves through. A storage block holds a huge pile of a single item, and a vacuum chest scoops up nearby dropped items automatically.

Simple Upgradesfor your machines

Speed, efficiency, fluid, range, and energy upgrades slot into Machines and Logistics blocks to make them faster, cheaper to run, or able to reach and hold more.

Jetpackseight of them

Four tiers — Basic, Advanced, Elite, Ultimate — each with a plain and an armored version. Higher tiers fly faster and hold more charge. Recharge one at a charger block from Machines.

Using Xaero's Minimap or World Map?

Waypoint teleporting works once Xaero's Teleportation setting is Chat Command (right-click the world's entry in the waypoints screen) — or set the teleport command to /tppos {x} {y} {z}.

The world's ID changed recently, so older waypoints might be sitting in an old Multiplayer_<address> folder under XaeroWaypoints/ instead of the current one. With the game closed, copy them into the newest folder there and they'll show up again.

The world itself

This is Elizabeth's world, moved from her single-player save — spawn is near her original base. The world keeps your stuff when you die (keepInventory on), creepers can't destroy builds (mob griefing off), and there's no PvP. Terrain is generated with the Tectonic pack, so mountains are genuinely worth climbing.
